Our mission is to inspire children to believe in themselves by connecting them with caring adults.

Building Bridges is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded on the belief that children in challenging circumstances can thrive given the simple gift of positive interaction with adults who are committed to the success and well-being of future generations.

Whether faced with death or absence of parents, economic hardship, learning disability or a variety of circumstances beyond their control, thousands of children in Metropolitan Detroit are in need of but one adult to believe in them, and to provide them with the courage to believe in themselves.

Just as we believe there are many children who can benefit from the positive influence of a caring adult, we also know there are many adults looking for a way to give back to their community by sharing their time, talents, knowledge, experience, hard work and positive spirit with these children.

Building Bridges is here to facilitate this wonderful exchange.

What impact can we have? It’s up to us as a community. Perhaps we will keep a child off the streets. Perhaps we help a child avoid a life of crime, or say no to drugs. Maybe we inspire and motivate a child to go to college. The possibilities are endless, but one thing is certain. We will help every child we can to believe in themselves.
